Product Owner
We are looking for a Product Owner to help coordinate the daily operations of our engineering and product teams.
You’ll spend the majority of your day in Jira, reviewing tickets and ensuring they stay updated and organized. You’ll work with members of the engineering and product team to groom the backlog, close communication gaps, and keep tickets, sprints and releases organized. You’ll keep track of tickets that need to be triaged, attend triage meetings, and take notes and update tickets with the results of those meetings. You’ll also be responsible for creating new releases and sprints in Jira, attending planning meetings, and making sure the outcomes of those meetings are appropriately captured and reflected in Jira.
You’ll be successful in this role if you’re already familiar with using Jira in an agile software development environment, and bonus points if you’re a Jira power-user i.e. you know how to create a Release in Jira, how Epics work, and how to use the Plan feature.
You’re meticulously detail-oriented and highly organized — the kind of person who genuinely enjoys decluttering and who always keeps things neat and tidy. You’re a friendly, clear communicator with high emotional intelligence who is comfortable chasing engineers for follow-ups, but also able to effectively manage their varying capacities.
While this is a remote position, we’re only looking for candidates based in the U.S. to work with our U.S. team, but we would love someone who is willing to work odd hours occasionally to sync with our global teams. You’ll be coming into a small but experienced team where there’s plenty of room to grow and explore responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead the scrum for the engineering teams
- Manage and oversee day-to-day workload for the engineering team
- Ensure Jira tickets and sprints accurately represent the goals and tickets are up to date
- Attending planning meetings and capturing the results of those meetings
- Understand initiative objectives
- Work directly with customers to resolve issues
- Be able to prioritize competing needs
- Report any issues/risks to objectives being complete
- Collecting analytics for reporting to the executive team
- Ability to analyze and think quickly to resolve conflicts
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in a product or project-management related role preferred
- Working knowledge of agile methodology, techniques, and frameworks, such as Scrum or Kanban
- Experience using Jira
- Outstanding organizational and communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
